Transparent Eyeball
Transparent Eyeball
oil on linen
46 x 29"
2019

The painting depicts the artist wearing a Cyclops mask, trash bag and camouflage pants. The title is from Emerson’s essay Nature: “Standing on the bare ground,—my head bathed by the blithe air, and uplifted into infinite space,—all mean egotism vanishes. I become a transparent eyeball; I am nothing.”
